One to One Leadership Coaching

Whether you're looking for support with a management issue, stepping into your first leadership position or you're leading a significant change, you don't have to do it alone.

Can I let you into a little secret? It doesn't really matter what the coaching is about because ultimately it's all about you!

This is coaching for those moments when an internal coach is just not going to cut it. You need a specialist who understands the wider HE context, has advanced coaching skills and who isn't based within your institution.

I'm a self-belief specialist so whether you're leading organisational change or stepping into your first leadership position I will always start with you. Together we'll untangle your thinking, put your worries and fears into perspective and make courage based plans to get you where you want to be.

Here are the types of people and challenges or aspirations I love to work with (although this is not an exhaustive list:

  • Senior managers who are new into leadership. You're pretty comfortable with your ‘manager’ identity, although you're not totally sure you're doing a very good job of it…not that you have any evidence to support that worry. The bit you're more uncertain on is the ‘leadership’ part.
  • Managers who are trying to tackle a particularly tricky situation at work like implementing a restructure. You have a good idea of what you need to do but you're feeling unsure and you want someone outside of your institution to talk it through with....because let's face it, HR don't have capacity for the level of support that you want in order to do this with integrity whilst also looking after your own mental health.
  • Senior managers who are trying to do something innovative and make a lasting change but need some external support because everyone on the inside is sceptical and or cynical. You have a great idea and a platform to launch it but you need a thought partner and a cheerleader to be in your corner.
  • Sensitive leaders who struggle to speak with conviction in meetings with more senior colleagues. It's sometimes difficult to get a word in edgeways and you would almost always prefer more time to think. You worry that you're coming across as un-strategic or indecisive. And you have a sneaky suspicion that speaking with conviction could be a gateway to promotions which have been illusive so far.

There are two main ways to work with me one to one.

With either option I'll create the space for you to be messy and unburden yourself of the truths you've been hiding from. We'll work through your plans and challenges, we'll develop tools and approaches that suit you, and we'll 'reorganise your brain' (my past clients' words, not mine) so that you can go back to your daily life and work with a sense of grounded calm and self-assurance.

The Boost

We work together for 3 sessions and you walk away with increased clarity, self awareness and a courage based action plan.

The price is ÂŁ500 and that includes 3 coaching calls via Teams or Zoom, support between calls via WhatsApp or email and bespoke resources depending on what you need.

This is great for when you need a boost of courage, clarity or confidence. You might be thinking through a dilemma, making a decision, unpicking an unhelpful habit or preparing for an having a challenging conversation. Either way, we'll use the three calls to figure out what's going on, understand what has you stuck, decide on your next steps and make a plan that's based on courage rather than a, then b, then c type thinking. This is about making a plan you can feel confident in and stick to.

The Deep Dive

We work together for 6 months and you walk away with confidence in yourself, your leadership style and the new found ability to get yourself unstuck.

The price is £2,880 and that includes: 2 coaching calls per month via Teams or Zoom, support between calls via WhatsApp and email, a Self-doubt  Pattern Report and bespoke resources depending on what you need.

Please be aware that this is not a quick fix and it's not for people who are afraid of 'going there'. I work at the overlapping edges of coaching and therapy to create lasting change. This is not another training and it's not generic. It's bespoke and it's personal. There is no week by week curriculum because you and your unique challenges and aspirations are the syllabus.

Benefits my past clients have mentioned from working in this way:

  • increased "confidence and resilience"
  • going from "sleepwalking through the day to day" to "brought me out of that malaise and back in touch with my value set"
  • "practical skills to arrange my time and cope with being overwhelmed"
  • "feel less weighed down"
  • "my thought process utterly changed for the better"
  • "I know I'm much better at my job, and more confident as a person"

Sound good?

If that all sounds good let's find a time for a call. Because coaching is such a trust based relationship I only agree to work with clients after we've had an actual conversation.

On the call you can tell me a bit about what you're experiencing and we can make a high level plan for how we'd approach the coaching.

If it feels like a good fit for us both we can talk about the logistics and payment details etc.
