One to One Coaching

This is coaching for those moments when an internal coach is just not going to cut it. You need a specialist who understands the wider HE context, has advanced coaching skills and who isn't based within your institution.

The Boost

We work together for 2 sessions and you walk away with increased clarity, self awareness and a courage based action plan.

The price is £360 and that includes 1:1 coaching calls via Teams or Zoom, support between calls via Voxer (a free app like bit like WhatsApp) or email and bespoke resources depending on what you need.

This is great for when you need a boost of courage, clarity or confidence. You might be thinking through a dilemma, making a decision, unpicking an unhelpful habit or preparing for an having a challenging conversation. Either way, we'll use the calls to figure out what's going on, understand what has you stuck, decide on your next steps and make a plan that's based on courage rather than a, then b, then c type thinking. This is about making a plan you can feel confident in and stick to.

Resolve

This is for you if you're stuck in a Repeating Conversation Loop with someone on your team. You know the one:

  • you keep raising an issue with them (behaviour or performance related)
  • they apologise
  • things seem better for a couple of weeks or maybe even months
  • then it happens again
  • So you raise it again.

But nothing changes.

It's exhausting, frustrating and demoralising because you can't figure out how to make it stop. You just want them to be getting on with their job so that you can stop worrying about it and get on with the things that you 'should' be focusing on.

You're probably stuck in this loop because you're trying to be a good manager. You want to be supportive and you want to avoid upsetting anyone or creating conflict. This is a totally normal instinct by the way.

I will help you exit the loop by creating more robust accountability so that you can move from being 'nice' to being firm but fair.

We'll spend 75-90 minutes together unpicking the pattern and planning your next conversation with this person to move the issue out of the Repeating Conversation Loop.

Then we'll have a second session to debrief and prepare your next steps.

Dealing with issues in the team is a natural part of management and leadership but we're rarely given enough support to do it well, and it's not something we can observe other managers doing because those conversations usually happen behind closed doors. That's why I've created this package of support. I'm an experienced HE manager, coach and workplace mediator and I know these conversations can be really scary for managers, especially if you hate conflict or tend to soften what you've been planning to say at the last moment.

If you know you're ready to resolve this situation you can download the brochure to send to your manager or budget holder as part of your conversation with them asking for their backing to move this conversation on.

If you're self-funding please use the link in the brochure to book yourself in.

This isn’t about heroic leadership or becoming an HE politician. It’s about rebuilding something real...without burning yourself out in the process.

If that’s what you need right now, book a call. I only work with clients where we both feel like it's a good fit.

I really do get it

I’ve led post-restructure teams inside universities and coached over 250 HE professionals. I understand the institutional context, the emotional reality, and the slow grind of making things work without losing yourself. This is where I do my best work: helping good people lead well, even in tough conditions.

I'd love to support you.
