You spend too much time at work to feel unsure about it.

  • You aren't sure if you're in the right place anymore and if you are in the right place you worry that maybe you aren't really up to it.
  • You're working weekends to catch up on your own work because you spend your days fighting other people's fires.
  • You have some performance issues in your team that you aren't sure you're handling well enough.
  • You know that something has to give but another stern chat with yourself about boundaries isn't going to cut it.

As a dedicated HE Management Coach I'm here to help you:

  • reconnect with yourself at this stage of your life and career
  • redefine your views, opinions and beliefs about yourself and your role as a manager and leader
  • streamline the business as usual workflows in your team to allow you to delegate well while still feeling in control
  • implement boundaries that actually stick and protect your energy and your team.

If you're ready to find your confidence as a manager and leader and leave worries about burnout behind then the Grounded Manager Programme is for you.

Figure out: Who am I and what do I want now?

You'll get access to a mini-course containing a series of self-reflection exercises. They will help you to review where you are at this point in your life and career: what your strengths, drivers and values are and what you want out of life and work now.

Become a sturdy, grounded manager

In the training modules we’ll untangle your perspectives on yourself and your role as a manager and leader. The modules focus on practical managerial approaches, but we’ll start with you—building your self-trust and self-belief as the foundation for everything else.

Managing yourself and your priority

One of the main things that managers struggle with is getting dragged around by other people's priorities and being buried in email overwhelm. This module tackles how to keep your main thing in it's place as the main thing. And how to deal with everything else. We'll look at ways to get unhooked from the big three: perfectionism, procrastination and people pleasing.

Managing workload and wellbeing by managing upwards and outwards

Sometimes your Senior Managers and stakeholders will make unreasonable demands of you and your team, especially when there are recruitment freezes in place or redundancies in the offing. It's quite likely that you're carrying several vacancies in your team but still have a the workload equivalent to a full team. This module is all about knowing when to push back and how. We'll be tackling saying no, setting boundaries and making better agreements.

Managing the BAU workflows

I know you know you should be delegating more but you worry about the time it takes to train people and then how to keep control of everything. So this module is all about how authority, responsibility, accountability and information flow between you and your team member(s) to keep the business as usual work ticking along. We want to run things so that you can trust them to get on with their stuff, while you make progress with yours.

PLUS you'll get

clarity about your unique challenges

There are live coaching calls to go alongside the training modules. Each session you will each get a chance to talk about your individual circumstances, challenges and questions so that you can integrate the learning into your unique context, with your team, your manager and in your situation. I'm going to support you the whole way as you get used to doing this management thing differently. Trying new things can feel uncomfortable but it's the only way to get a different result, and we both know you can't carry on as you are.

AND...

long term change that sticks

If you’re anything like me, there are some things you’ll want to explore privately, so you also get three 1:1 coaching calls with me. You can use them anytime—from the day you sign up until six months after the programme ends. It’s completely up to you and designed to be as supportive as possible.

How it works
